Gap exception for homebirth in Chicago with UHC?

Thread Starter
Soliciting information from anyone who's tried recently (successfully or unsuccessfully) to get United HealthCare to grant a gap exception for homebirth coverage by a CNM in Chicago... (here there are in-network CNMs that work in a hospital setting, but there are no birth centers, and the few CNMs that do homebirth are not in-network). Since this seems to be influenced by not only insurance company policy, but also by state law, I thought I'd try for the most local stories I can get...

Thanks in advance!

Haven't tried myself, but cross-post in the Tribal area and maybe on Mamasource. Maybe you'll get some hits.
