clothing brands for fatties (9 mo)? LOL - Page 2

My 6.5month old is 23lbs and 29inches and wears 18-24mos stuff...I can't imagine what she'll be in this summer. That said, we buy only stretchy cotton pants from Carters & Gap and sometimes Circo from Target. My DD has giant thighs and the Zutano stuff runs really really small (at least as far as big babies go). We had a 12mos outfit that fit her when she was 3mos old...so I stopped buying Zutano (except the booties, which are awesome). We usually have to donate all the clothes that we get as gifts because no one ever buys stuff big enough for her. We have agreat consignment shop it our town though, so that helps. Good luck, I know what you're going through. I expect that we'll be in 2T by the time she's 9mos

awesome thread....thanks mamas!!

my hands down fav pants for over cloth diapers are the older style hanna andersson wiggle pants. they ahve an extra horizontal seam across the bum and very narrow cuffed ankles. i bought a ton when i was preg with ds (so 2 years ago) and love love loved them. but now they make them differently...i am so sad. (and stalking ebay).

Oolong!

I really REALLY think Gap is the best for baby clothes. They have stretchy, comfortable fabric and are in sizes like "6 to 12 months" .

I just want to say DONT BUY Green Dog from Macys. Horrible sizing and toughest fabric. Horrible.

ETA: Im not rich! lol I buy the way marked down stuff and most of the time pay $6 to 9 for a onesie at the Gap. (which I feel is a deal, shes been wearing 4 Gap onesies for 7 months now, no holes, no fading!)

My DS was a really big baby - 14 lbs at 2 months and 24 lbs at 6 months. I also used cloth diapers on him. It was sooo hard to find pants that fit him. He could wear the shirts from Gap or Gymboree, but not the pants. He couldn't wear anything from OshKosh. We got a couple of Ralph Lauren things as gifts, and they were ridiculously small. He had a couple of Zutano outfits that fit well (but it is kind of expensive). I found Carters to be the best. They run big and the clothes are all cut really wide. I dressed him mostly in Carters for a long time.

Really?? I've gone to the Hannah Andersson outlet up here to get pants for my chunk o' baby in his big fat cloth diapers, and they have that big seat and the narrow ankles. So far, they're the only pants that fit over everything.

I like th Gap stretchy pants, but don't waste your money on their jeans or other pants beside the cotton stretchy ones. They are slim. They were great for DS who was/is a bean pole but not good for DD. I had a pair of jeans that did not go over her thighs from Gap.
I also like Carter and Crazy 8. Crazy 8 seems to be a bit more forgiving for her big thighs.

My first was 22 lbs at 4 months. What I found to be most helpful was keeping away from pants. He wore one piece outfits and overalls until he slimmed down at 2.5. Now at 3.5 I can't keep pants up because he's gotten thin!

Carter's, Children's Place and Gymbo worked great for us when DS was this size when he was an infant.

Thanks for posting that - I may have to order some of these clothes.
