hot tubs and saunas

I know that there is info circulating that male use of hot tubs and saunas decreases sperm counts. I am just wondering if anyone has personal experience either way. I ask because we are probably moving to a house with both. I am wondering if I should discourage dh from using them for awhile if we ttc. (This may be hard-he is pretty exited about both!)

i'm interested in knowing also. dh uses the sauna at the gym and i just read about how it is not good for sperm count and although i want to discourage dh from using it, he is also on day three of no smoking and i read that sauna's can help eliminate toxins.

As long as he doesn't spend an extended amount of time in them, he should be fine.

set hot tub to 90 degrees while TTC. It wont raise core body temp in either of you to dangerous levels, but you still get some relaxation out of it. (I was in a hot tub a few times in my TWW with this pregnancy... but we had it set to 90 and by the time I got out my body temp was still under 100 degrees... a safe temp during pregnancy)

Thanks for the info. I will set the tub at a low temp, especially since ds wants to do some hot tubbin as well. I guess the sauna might be the more problematic of the two...

What would be considered too long in a sauna?

im not sure... i, myself, would just have df avoid a sauna altogether until after pregnancy is achieved (and then, of course, you should continue to avoid it but he can use it...)
