mucinex safe while breastfeeding?

i have fluid in my ear and doc told me to take mucinex to rid of the fluid. she told me it will probably make my supply drop-which i definitely dont want. my son is 20 months but i dont want it to lead to early weaning.

i have tried so many home remedies, but they arent working

Ouch - that sounds painful. I was told to take it when I had a sinus infection but I didn't because of the chance it my affect my supply. I've been through low-supply and there is no way I would intentionally take something that would affect it again. That being said, I don't know what you could do for the fluid build up but maybe some one else has advice.
