"Baby Bottle" Fundraiser at Church

Anyone have any ideas for alternatives to baby bottles to collect money? I know I shouldn't even 'worry' about this, they are raising money to help support the local pregnancy care center after all. But, anytime a bottle is used to represent a baby it sort of gets under my skin. I'm hoping someone has a genius idea for me to present to my pastors.

Thank you in advance!

Heather

What about an empty wipes container?
We CD and use cloth wipes at home, but use 'sposie wipes when we travel and in my diaper bag. I have a bunch of empty wipe containers laying around, and I think they're pretty handy for storing all kinds of stuff, especially with the "pop top" and all.

Just want to make sure I am understanding. You are looking for something to hold the money as you collect? How about the container Baby wipes come in? They have lids, will hold a lot and the the little slit the wipes come through would be perfect for putting the money in through. I am sure you could come up with a neat little slogan too (I stink at that part) you know something like help us wipe out XXX or lets clean up XXX.

Not sure what size this item needs to be, do you need 1-2 or 100 but a couple things come to mind:
-Baby Booties
-Square Cardboard Boxes - decorated to look like building blocks
-Cloth Diaper - Cheap flat fold, pined in the front, sew/glue leg holes closed, dip it in starch so it will hold it's shape.
-Baby food jars
-Piggy Banks
-Rubber Duckies - cut an opening to insert money
-Diaper Pail
-Wagon

Do they need to have a cover & be portable?

Baby food jars? Piggy banks from the $ store?

If they don't need a cover, maybe an open bassinet, baby shoes, baby bowls/cups, something on that idea? Or decorative containers you'd use in a nursery (wipes or cotton ball containers)?

OHH or maybe empty baby shampoo bottles or something on that idea?

Oops just realized the pp posted most of the same ideas. Sorry!!

You could also do a sand bucket, a toy dump truck, sleepers sewed up at the openings...

We've always used canning jars.

An upside down oversized salad bowl painted to look like a giant boob!

No really, I like the cardboard box building blocks idea.

We do the same thing at our church. In fact its going on right now.

My old church used to do that and it always kinda bugged me...I like the baby food jar idea...

Whenever I donated I just gave a baggie myself lol

Our church does this also and unfortunatley, I don't give to this charity at that time because it totally turns me off. However, when they ask for clothes donations, at another time of year without the baby bottle I gladly give.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I spoke to our pastor about it and he said the many, many bottles came from the local pregnancy crisis center not the church and he thought there was 'no intention to offend nursing mothers' but obviously misses the point all together. I told him I might start volunteering there to change that and he was encouraging, probably thinking it's really about raising money not about the message of feeding babies (but for me it's all important!). So what I'm going to do is try to save wipes containers and baby food jars, although the wipes containers are so big they might make people feel bad (the bottles fill up fast) and the jars are so small it might do the same. BUT...there are larger jars now so I probably should put out a plea on Freecycle for large jars.

I'd like to get this changed for the next 'bottle' campaign so THANK YOU for the suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
