We will be doing this starting in the Summer. Ds1 (just turned 6) is in Montessori Kinder classroom this year. He is happy there, and will be finishing out the school year. Then we'll be doing hs for 1st grade.

We'll use New Child Montessori guides for our main curriculum. And we plan to supplement with a few other things as needed. We won't be super strict with Montessori-style, but it's definitely an influence in how we'll set up and the flow of our day.

I just ordered the PreK/K manual for math from NAMC. It's the one subject I'm really fascinated with and need help because ds is fascinated with math but the curriculum we were using has suddenly become uninteresting anymore so I need a new approach.

In all fairness, I'd always WANTED to do math with him via Montessori and could never find the resources until now.

I'll have to wait till it gets here to decide if I like it. It looks like what you suggested is an overall curriculum where what I ordered is a component of an overall curriculum (that's way more expensive )

Hey! My dd is 6, and we are just now really "discovering" Montessori.

We have the New Child Montessori materials, and I want to start implementing a little at a time. I don't think that we'll do entirely Montessori-style because we really dig the "classical/eclectic" mix that we have, too.

But especially for the Science and Geography, I'd like to use a Montessori approach.

It's hard to know where to start, though! There is soooo much material.

On the Montessori thread under "Education at School" there is an ongoing homeschoolers discussion, and I would really love to see another 5+ perspective on there.
