How do you integrate Unit Studies? How many days a week? What if you start something and your DC is not interested, do you not finish? How long do they last, usually. We have finally gotten everything worked in and are looking at adding stuff like, Human Anatomy, Life Cycles, etc. Thanks!!

At the moment, I just do unit studies based on his interests that week. For example, last week, he was talking a lot about x-rays and bones and things, so we went and found books at the library about skeletons, and then I searched online for fun activities, crafts, lapbooks, etc that we could work on to go along with the unit study.
For a while, I was pre-planning everything, but sometimes he wouldn't really care that much about what I had planned, and was interested in something else. So, while planning-wise, it makes it a bit harder since it's almost 'last minute', our lessons are MUCH more effective (and truly more fun) b/c they are things HE chose to learn about and genuinely wants to know more about.
I think most of our 'unit studies' have lasted about a week. Just kinda depends on how much interest he still has, if he learned what he wanted to know, etc. I think our longest one was on Animal Homes...he LOVED that unit study, so we studied LOTS of different animals and their homes
