Success! Getting kids to clean-up game

Anyone who knows me knows that I really struggle with cleaning. My kids therefore (and personality-wise) really struggle with cleaning. We had a great clean-up session today. We sung the clean-up song with variations and the kids had a GREAT time. I sung it fast (they had to move faster) and slow and when I stopped they had to freeze. Then they had to clean-up like the animals that were singing the song (I sang it with "moo's" and oinks etc) It worked so well!! The house looks great 10 mins later. My kids were telling people who called on the phone how fun it was.
I appreciate clean-up tricks so here is mine. Anyone else have anything that works well for them?

Good for you What a wonderful way to make clean up fun.

We use the clean up song. We also set a timer and play "beat the timer" meaning "Can you pick up all of the blocks before the timer goes off? Good, ready, set, go!!!!)

The key is to always model the behavior you expect.

Thanks! I have been meaning to get a timer for awhile. I think they would really like competing against the timer.
