Kinda freaking out...front top of tongue numb?

Pretty much everything I find about this leads me to Bell's Palsy. PLEASE tell me you've experienced this before and it was NOT BP!!! About an hour ago I noticed that my sandwich and OJ tasted kinda funny, then I started to feel a little bit of numbness in my tongue- in the front on the top. I noticed it as I'd breathe in through my mouth and it just felt kinda weird. It's not SUPER numb, like I can still feel everything, but it's just that "smooth" numb like feeling, if that make sense??

I get a similar feeling as a migraine symptom. It doesn't even have to be related to any headache that I get or anything. I was just told that it was a symptom of a migraine (and that a migraine is not a headache, a headache is a symptom of a migraine).

Mine varies between my lips, cheeks, tongue, etc. And it frequently starts just like you said- by something just feeling weird.

Not saying that it's NOT bell's in your case, but just that there are other things it COULD be.

Also, could it be a vitamin deficiency of some sort?

That is a symptom that I would call my care provider about right away.

We UP/UC.

So I'm not really freaking out anymore. I looked at it and it looked kinda irritated, and I also went and took my vitamins after the PP's idea, and it already seems better (it wasn't "bad" in the first place I guess). I'm also wondering if since it's just the tip of my tongue, that I might have burned it on my tea last night and am feeling the effects now...I know I burned my tongue recently but I don't remember when.

So that means you can't seek health care if you experience what could possibly be a symptom of serious neurological problem that might not even be related to your pregnancy?

Anyway, I saw that it might be a burn. In that case, it's obviously not doctor worthy. But if it doesn't go away and it turns out not to be a burn, despite the fact that you are UP/UCing, you should most definitely contact a care provider of some type right away with a symptom like that.

Um, well then I'm confused? Why the response of "we UP/UC" to me suggesting you see your care provider right away?

My first thoughts were 'burn' or 'migraine' since those have been my experiences. Sometimes a canker sore or inflamed taste bud can mess with you too. I will also get that type of numbness associated with aspartame artificial sweetener, and some people also get it with MSG. I hope its nothing, mama!
