Fantasy Fiction - Page 2

I'm currently reading Tyranny of the Night by Glen Cook. I'm still undecided about this guy. I really like his writing in some ways, but there's something about his plotting or his flow or something that just doesn't work.

For Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series, I'd start with the Arrows trilogy.

For good vampire novels, and also for queer characters, you can't go wrong with Tanya Huff. I met her last year, and she's wonderful.

I am definitely checking out Mercedes Lackey when finish the books I have already.

I am now reading Bear Daughter by Judith Berman right now and it's really good! http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/b/...r-daughter.htm I can't put it down!( well, that's not exactly true since the only time I have to read is first thing in the morning before Ds wakes up and before bed) in any case I can really recommend it. The writer is an anthropologist and has created fiction combined by different pacific Northwest First Nation legends with European Mythology to make a captivating story. Then I have Charles De Lint's Mystery of Grace http://www.sfsite.com/charlesdelint/newbook.htm which I am also looking forward to reading on vacation.
