We used one of these and it worked really well. We did not, however, prepare babyfood ahead of time, just used it tableside. We had a bag that we'd stick it in and take it to restaurants with us.

True! We got ours as a hand-me-down. Small is nice. I've used the larger one you linked to for making applesauce and honestly, any style food mill like that can be a pain to clean. The larger one has a bunch of pieces but it comes completely apart so you can clean all the bits and bobs. It also has a couple of different size discs in it to change the size of the texture. Around us, stores like Ace have a nice canning section so you may be able to get your hands on few different mills to check them out.

I have this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Oxo-Good-Grips...6072147&sr=1-1

It's the oxo brand and I love it! I picked it based on all of the great reviews. It is, however, very expensive... almost 50 dollars. I had to save up for a looong time to get it!

Sorry, probably not much help....
