Do you make/use contours?

We just had a newborn arrive this week and I really don't have the stash ready. I had given away most of my stash after the last baby. I was able to get some diapers off Craigslist locally during the pregnancy, but didn't get much newborn sizes because they just aren't in them long. So I was thinking of just making some contours. Do they work well for a newborn? I have Bummis, Baby Softwraps, and Prorap covers. Do they slide around/bunch up?

To save $ I was thinking of just using some microfiber towels and topping them with velour or microfleece. Do you think that is cheaper than buying them ready-made?

You could combine the microfiber with flannel. Check out this link at the Diaper Sewing Divas for the Fortune Cookie insert made with microfiber and flannel. The pictures are gone, but the directions are pretty clear. I love the Bummis wraps ~ we would just trifold a prefold and lay it in there, no problem.

Thanks for the ideas! Unfortunately I don't have any prefolds, I gave away most my stash after baby #3 and am really regretting it now!
