"THAAAAAAAAT!" Poop misses

I'm curious...

What do you all do with poop misses on the floor? We're experimenting with going 100% nudie bum during the awake hours while at home, and today (because I wasn't watching closely enough) we had two poop misses on the floor (both following a pee).

She'll squat to do something (look through the diaper bag, or play with her wooden blocks), and the next thing I know she stands up FAST and turns around to point at the poop. I can't tell if she's excited or horrified, but she screams (loudly) "THAAAAAAAAAAAT!" and points at the poop.

Thank goodness it's solid.

I'm just curious how you would all handle this. Pee misses are easy (she usually goes for a cloth to clean it up herself, always my dishcloth (thanks, kid!), but still), and then I just explain that pee goes in the potty. But poop can be placed in the potty... so I did. And BOY was that interesting to her. And now I'm afraid that the next time she has a miss on the floor, she's going to pick it up herself and put it in the potty (I used a kleenex).

Ew.

"Yes, the poop is on the floor instead of the potty. Don't worry, Mommy will take care of it!" and then either leave her there or take her with depending on how she looked at the time.

And then I discovered that taking her with was probably best since odds are she'd follow me any way and one way or another in the course of events she'd have gotten some on her foot and need washing plus all the extra wiping along her back trail.

Also, see if your dd's willing to sit on the potty after pooping while squatting down. There could be more in there and all that's come out so far is the stuff that the squat forced out. Er, I don't mean she's got a back-log of poop, I mean like, in the moment, try to get her to go to the potty or at least squat over a paper towel or something.

She won't sit on the potty after any elimination because she wants to put it in the toilet and flush. I doubt by the size of it though, there was any more to come anyway. It just made me laugh the look on her face when I put it in the potty to carry to the toilet. "THAT!!"... Yep... That. :

I was just curious what you all do. I've never had to deal with poop on the floor before. Well, once or twice, but she was probably only a 6 or so months old at the time.

We went through a couple of weeks where that'd happen pretty frequently (often right after I was wondering why she kept whining at me), then she started just telling me when she had to poop.

So :

Oh, and if Lina didn't have to go again she'd totally refuse the potty. I was just thinking you should offer.

I don't remember, because I kept her bottom covered a lot during the time of many poop misses. At first I'd take her and get her cleaned up, and then by the time I got back, um, the dogs had eaten it. So I started covering it, so I could clean her up, and then I'd go back and clean it up.

She's going to start pooping in the potty soon. Your dd, is, I mean!

Get a dog......

JK that was from the other thread.

DD just put hers in the potty last week, I was so proud.

I think you handled it fine. Pick it up and put it where it goes. Bacout is awesome and cleans up carpet great!
