Why are some members listed as "Banned"?

I've been noticing lately that several members are listed as "Banned" under their name, but they are still posting. What's up with that? Are they really banned, and if so, why can they post?

Also, what does it mean when someone says "Bump" on their post? Or something like "I am going to BUMP and write later." What does this mean?

Thanks for clearing up my confusion!

Hello!

The ones that are banned for silly reasons are not really banned. That was an April Fool's Day joke. Some people like having them and so never had them fixed.

People say "bump" because whenever someone posts to a thread it is "bumped" back to the top of the forum. So they are just posting "bump" as in "bringing it back up top."

I love my AFD banning and wouldn't think of 'fixing' it

Ok, thanks for clearing that up!

So if it simply says "Banned" under a member's name without any other silly explanation, that would mean they are, in fact, banned. Correct? And I am assuming banned members can no longer post, but perhaps their old posts will show up? Is that right? I was just reading some threads where several members were listed as "banned," but that was all it said.

Thanks for answering my questions!
