39 Weeks Pregnant and Sick, Advice?

I've had a cold for a couple weeks now: sore throat, cough, runny nose, etc. It keeps getting almost better and then seems to come on again. Dh has had some pretty serious health issues and I've been stressed, I know that's a major part of the problem.

Well, it's started again with a few days of sore throat and now major yellow/green mucus (sorry TMI) when I cough and in my nonstop in my nose. I really need to get over this hopefully before baby is born. Any advice on things to do? Today I've been trying to rest as much as possible, lots of liquids, Vitamin C and D, anything else?

I'd like to get to nesting and clean my house but I need to beat this first. Thanks all!

I'd add in zinc. Lots of C alone has been enough for my kids for a lot of things, but now's a good time to try to cover every base so you're feeling 100% for the delivery. Drinking Aviva Romm's garlic lemonade always makes me feel better, and eating homemade soup, I make huge batches of chicken noodle when we're sick. The recipe here on the Mothering site (the Recipes part) is really good.

And and ugh at being that pregnant and sick, I was really sick at the end of my pregnancy with DS. I didn't have a clue as to nutritional support so ended up on antibiotics, the right choice for me at the time, but if it happened again, I really think I could've kicked it with nutritional support.

Also--is there anyone who can help out with anything? Stress is bad bad bad, so if there's anything you can do, or anyone who could help out with things, now's a good time.

try a neti pot to keep extra mucus out of your throat. eat as much raw garlic as you can at least 3 cloves a day. drink warm liquids throughout the day: for the cough fresh lemon juice, cayenne pepper, honey and ginger. but i wonder if all the spicy stuff will help you go into labor?? you may not want that right now, then i would just do lemon and honey warm drink all day long. no cold drinks. rest

Thanks so much for the suggestions ladies! I'm going to jump over to the recipe forum right now and also add in the other things you suggested. Thank you, thank you!

If it were absolutely any other time I wouldn't worry at all, but with the birth being so close I really need to get this on its way out.

Thank you again!
