Twenty Years ago today

Thread Starter
My father died suddenly.
It's been twenty years.
It changed who I am.
It changed the path of my life.
I grew up without him.
He died suddenly with no warning.
I feel like I want to say something,
but twenty years on it just seems dramatic.
Or at least I worry that is what people will think.

20 years is a tremendous milestone, and losing your father is a tremendous loss.
so sorry!

Not dramatic at all. My father died over 33 years ago, and I still mourn the loss. Your life is just never the same.

I could have written your exact words except make it 28 years. My life also would have been completely different.

I'm sorry for both of us.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine that even 20 years later the loss would still sting.

Wow your words echo true, every one of them. Very eloquently put. In two months it will be twenty years for me also. It was sudden also. I was 14. It changed everything forever. He visits me in my dreams. About a week ago he came to meet my daughter and the love we felt was real. I find great comfort in his visitacions and hope you can experience the same.

It has been 29 yrs this month since my father died. There are times I still feel like that 10 yr old girl....
" It changed who I am.
