How often do you trim your LO's nails?

Do they all grow this quickly? It takes about 4-5 days after I clip them for them to get long and scratchy again. I have to do it when she naps and for various reasons that's not always possible (she's a catnapper, may stay on the boob for the whole nap, I need the time for other stuff, etc.).

Another mama noticed how long her nails were the other day, I was so embarrassed!

My son is 3.5 months old and I am constantly cutting his razor-sharp baby claws. I keep the clippers near where we nurse and I check them frequently. (But still not frequently enough apparently because this morning I have a big baby-claw scratch on my breast and he has one on his forehead!)

I have to cut ds' (8mo) at least once a week, and I still find scratches on me or him! He loves to grab and squeeze, hard, and he hates to sit still while I trim them, it is a constant battle around here!

at least once a week. usually when I start to notice he's leaving scratches on his skin.

Dd2 is 3 months and I clip them probably every 4-5 days. During which time they get pretty long, it never ceases to amaze me. I try to do it while she naps but sometimes I can be sneaky and get a couple fingers at a time if she's really interested in a toy or something.

yep...it's their super-fast metabolism.

4-5 days

I use a book light (it stand up on it's own) and cut them when he sleeps at night. That seems to be the only time he won't wake up. I get under the covers to cut his toe nails

he's 5 mos and once a week here.

She's 4 weeks old and I have yet to clip them and they are pretty short. I think they just peel off or something LOL

I file them once or twice a week.

DS is 10 mo & I clip fingernails about twice a week & toenails every couple weeks. (I don't know why there's such a difference!) He digs his nails into my face & is fascinated with pinching right now - so I keep them short, or I'd have scratches all over!

every day

DD is 6.5 months and learning to sleep unswaddled. She still scratches herself so I trim them every night before bed.
