Akat - my LO always tried to pee when we took his dipey off so we took it as a clue that he wants us to EC - I started offering him a potty during diaper changes and we've been catching a lot of pees and poos that way - he actually spends a lot more time dry nowadays and I really have fun with pottying him.
Just a though, for reducing those just changed diapers getting poopy.

I admire the idea of ECing, but I just don't think it would work with my personality. I think once I got into it, the misses/messes would inevitably stress me out. I had one friend who did it, and their life was just taken up by it, tons of time and mental energy - while my son play-acted nursing and holding a baby, their daughter play-acted helping a baby go potty. And I think I'm too obsessive to be easy-going about it.
