On Friday, I left dd with a babysitter in the morning for a meeting. when i got home she seemed fine and played for several hours before nap without a problem.
Then she woke up from her nap early screaming and wouldn't go back to sleep. the rest of the afternoon she was a mess - screaming frequently, being very clingy. She had a friend over and would freak out if I even went to the other side of the room and would cry and need to be held.
In the evening once my dh came home and my sister came for a visit she seemed like she was back to her normal self. I figured it was probably overtired/separation anxiety.
the next morning my sister babysat and said dd fell off the couch - she was sitting on the couch and rolled backwards and landed pretty flat on her back. Our carpet is pretty soft and the couch is only like a foot and a half off the ground.
When I got home, dd was ready for a nap so I put her to sleep.
She woke up early again from her nap and the rest of the day she was a mess! She screamed frequently and was incredibly clingy.
We eventually figured out that she is in pain when we lift her up under her arms, and if she is sitting down and tries to get up and puts weight on her left arm.
There is no bruising or swelling - I've rotated her joints and put pressure on them and it doesn't seem to bother her. I've poked and put pressure on her ribs and it doesn't bother her. Only when we pick her up or she tried to push off her left hand to get up.
We called her dr (who was on call) and he said he could go into the office to see her today but we decided not to take her because she is acting fine otherwise. she slept ok last night and is playing normally and laughing and acting fine except for those 2 situations that cause her pain. We also have been struggling with her insurance company and i don't think she has coverage right now and we really can't afford to pay out of pocket for x rays or anything. The dr agreed that it didn't sound serious and said we could bring her in tomorrow when the office is open if she is still in pain.
I am a little concerned that the injury might be internal since we can't see any bruises or swelling or anything/
What do you think? Would you bring her in to the dr anyway or just wait until tomorrow and see how she is?
