Pregnant? Body still getting "back on track"?

Here's my story. DH and I had unprotected sex week 6-7 PP. During this time I noticed thick clear cervical mucus and thought "am I ovulating already?". A few days later I had light bleeding and cramping and thought maybe my period had returned. It only lasted about 3 days and was not very heavy at all - I know PP bleeding can stop and re start but I hadn't had any bleeding since about 4.5 wks PP. DS was breastfeeding very frequently but my midwife mentioned that if he was sleeping up to 4 hours at a time at night that that was enough for your body to release an egg.

Well its 44 days later and no period yet. My cycles are typically long (around 40 days). Is my body still trying to regulate and get back on track? Or is there a chance I could be pregnant again? Am I just pregnancy paranoid? Should I take a pregnancy test or continue to "wait it out"?

It's definitely possible, especially if you had fertile fluid. I would recommend testing and then if you aren't pregnant, begin charting so that you can figure out what's going on in your body.
