Larry Cohen's writing a new book! This is from his "Playful Parenting" e-newsletter.
"My next book, tentatively titled The Art of Roughhousing, co-written with Anthony DeBenedet, M.D., will be published by Quirk Books in Spring, 2011. You can help! Please send your roughhousing stories (especially your family's favorite moves and how roughhousing has helped your family) to AOR@playfulparenting.com.
"Here's a quick sample from the book, a move called Flying Fox (after the Australian and New Zealand term for a zip-line). Using your stronger arm as a pulley or handlebar for your child to grab with both hands, start running together and hoist him or her up and down as you run. Flying Fox is useful for soaring over objects, but be sure to fly to a maximum of 3-4 feet to prevent damage if the grip starts to slip."
