Getting smell out of carpet

Hi, my DD thankfully just got over a crazy stomach bug and she threw up on the carpet. How do I get the smell out? I washed with Dr. Bronner's and later vinegar and that did not do the job. (We don't have a steamer).

Thank you.

Nature's Miracle
This stuff is great! Once the area is dry, you soak it well with the NM and let it dry. I usually put a fan blowing at it to speed it up. It has some kind of enzymes that break down stuff in pee, poop, vomit, and the like. It has gotten kitty pee out of a futon mattress and I use it whenever we had a pee/poop that didn't make it into the potty during PLing with my son.
Great stuff.
I have found it at the pet store and the farm co-op. I think I've seen it at the vet too.
Good luck!

If you cloth diaper, you can use bacout or borax. Both are great at getting smells out.

Bio-Kleen's Bac-Out has worked well for me. After initial cleanup I spray the area with vinegar water, blot well, then spray with Bac-Out. Sometimes I blot after that, other times I don't worry about it much.

I use bacout with cat vomit, I imagine its the same for human vomit. It's really similar to nature's miracle, an enzyme based cleaner. (fwiw, hydrogen peroxide seems to work too, though the cat vomit that one time wasn't that smelly)
