I have to be more careful what I say!
DS was playing soccer with DD, and he was complaining that she was not kicking the ball in the right direction, she was not aiming towards the goal..... He's 5, she is 3, so no way she is going to have the aim and foot strength he has, but he doesn't get this. So I say "DS, she is only three years old. You can't expect her to kick it exactly as you want. Let her be."
Fast forward. DD is "playing" the flute and DH says "may I show you something?" So she hands him the flute, and he shows her where to put her fingers to make various tones, then gives it back to her. She says "daddy, I am only three years old. You can't expect me to play it like that."
I totally cracked up. But realized maybe I ought to be more careful about what I say.
