What kitchen scale do you have?

Cooks Illustrated rated OXO $50 model the best, does anyone have this one? My scale is so old, I need to buy a new one asap. My mom has this nice pretty glass looking top one, but it's slow, as in when you set something on it it is delayed to register the weight. It kinda bugs me but I'll take precise accuracy first

Suggestions? Don't care the cost

I have that OXO one and love it. I had a Salter before, which worked fine, but when it died I looked into the purchase more and found the OXO, which solves several problems that all other scales seem to have: it's hard to measure anything big like a plate, because then the display is covered (OXO solves this by making the display removable) and the scale turns off automatically, which might cause you to lose a tared-out weight (OXO remembers what you were weighing for I think 45 minutes, even when it is off). Definitely recommended.

I have a salter electronic scale. I got it a few years ago when King Arthur rated it the best. It has 11 lb capacity. Love it. I went to buy one for my mom last christmas and couldn't find it (discontinued model now, figures). Researched on amazon and I bought the oxo for her. She loves it. If the time ever comes that's what I'll get too. I got it at BBB w/a 20% off coupon.

Thanks, I have a BBB and coupons. But does it only display in fractions? Cause that would bug me

I have a scale from Old Will Knott and I love it. I use it for kitchen and soap making. It weighs in several modes - grams and ounces and lbs/ounces etc.... It's 5 years old and going strong. http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/

The key to kitchen scales, I've found, is to put them in a zip loc bag and use them that way - it protects them from food spills. My 5 yo scale looks brand new thanks to zip loc!

Thanks so much for that!! I never thought about that! I am definitely going to do that now! I am forever trying to get flour out from under the tray! What a great idea. Thanks again!
