I took my unvaccinated one year old son to the doctor today because he was having bouts of pain and my husband noticed swollen glands. The doctor took a titer (which is more accurate since he hasn't been vaccinated) and I should get the result back soon.
Meanwhile, the baby is out of daycare which means I am out of school. There are still a lot of unanswered questions:
1) Will my two year old daughter get it? Or could she have it already?
2) Will myself and my husband, (both vaccinated) get it?
3) How long will this whole episode last? Unless my daughter displays symptoms soon, she may not have caught it yet, and when she does, it will be another two weeks until she's over it!
Anyway, I'll keep you posted, but if we have mumps, it will be mumps party at my house here in Brooklyn! (Any guests want to be invited?? ...
