I love this blog-she digs up and creates some of the best stuff. This play kitchen idea is FABULOUS (say that in a high singing voice please).

frugal-and so so cute.

I am not responsible for any furniture you decide to repurpose without asking you DH, DP or SO

Too cute! I've seen that entertainment center one. Brilliant idea.

We made a gorgeous play kitchen for our LO out of almost all repurposed materials.

Our friend from church had an old kitchen cabinet and formica counter top. DH sawed off the top of the cabinet to make it short enough for our daughter to reach. He then moved the cabinet drawers, completely removing one (to create open shelves which we planned to cover with cute material but ended up leaving open to make more inviting for our daughter) and splitting the other in two. He refastened on of the new cabinets horizontally and installed a shelf to make an oven. The cut a heart out of the other one and also installed it horizontally. We painted the inside white and the outside red. We cut a hole in the top and inserted a metal bowl with a lip. I found a faucet head at the thrift store and we put that behind the bowl. We bought some handle things at the craft store and painted them silver. We painted "burners" on the top of the cabinet. The whole thing cost us about $50 and many, many hours :. We asked everyone else to buy kitchen accessories for Christmas and now it's incredibly well stocked. She loves it and we love that we made it for her and saved some junk from the landfill.

I've seen some super cute "Ikea hacks" as well, but they're not necessarily repurposed.

DS2 has a play stove that he and his brother made together out of the box that 5 lbs of clementines came it. It has two construction paper burners, dials made from the caps of milk jugs. It has an oven door that opens and has a rack for baking.

It not cute in the same way these other pictures are, but it cute that they have such elaborate imaginations. DH mentioned getting rid of it the other day and cause quite the uproar.

I should take some pictures of him playing with it so that when it does loose it allure and get thrown in the recycling I can remember what it looked like.
