Temple Grandin - Movie

Has anyone seen this movie? I believe it premiered on cable movie channels last week or the week before. I watched the last 2/3 yesterday and it was really great, IMO. I am very curious to see the beginning where presumably they cover her early life.

It stars Claire Danes, who I heard interviewed regarding her preparation for the part, including reading Temple's works, meeting with her and studying, studying, studying. She was very good.

I have it on the DVR, and was able to watch a little of it when I turned it on in the middle, but I haven't had a chance to sit and watch the whole thing yet. From what I saw, Claire Danes was doing a really amazing job!

DS7 and I watched it last week. I thought it was really well done.

I've watched it and agree that Claire did a great job. I watched it with both of my
kids, who are on the spectrum themselves. My oldest, 8, noticed a lot of similarities. He has since watched it a few times, he says he finds it comforting. He is likely an Aspie but has an initial dx of PDD-NOS.

I've been hearing a lot about it. Is it available online anywhere?

I've not seen the movie - but Temple is a great person - and it is amazing her insite into the world of autism and the world of animals. I've met and heard her speack about animal behaviors 3 times. Haveing autism has led her to the understanding of large animal behaiors better then anyone else in the world - this has made her a huge asset to the agricultural industry - and give animals a better life. If I get to meet her again I may ask about ASD if I can>

We live in Ft. Collins, where she works, and had hoped to go see the opening of the movie at CSU, but my kids both had other obligations that evening. We don't get the cable movie channels where it is showing, but it has been getting a lot of press in the local media. If anyone knows of a place where it can be seen that doesn't require a cable movie subscription, I'd be interested.

I really wanted to watch this too, but I don't have HBO. I hope it's available to rent soon or even better, watch it online.

Count me in as another who'd love to watch it, but doesn't get cable. At the school my older kids attend, the parents correspond throughout the year with another student in the class, with both parties acting as a persona -- well, the person I'm corresponding with this year is "Temple Grandin," so seeing the film would be wonderful. At the very least, I will be sure to mention it to my penpal, so she can try and watch it.
