Anyone tried the Shark yet?

I keep seeing it on TV and in the stores. I'm very interested in it's steam mopping ability but what I want to know is whether or not I need to sweep before hand still, or if it does that too?

I have extensive crappy 70's tile in my house that I HATE and mopping is a b! This seems like it may be a good alternative to mopping, which I also hate. Especially since I have to do the entire house.

Any experiences good or bad?

If you have lots of dirt or sand, then you would need to sweep. It's a great tool, though. I use mine multiple times a day.

Like really sweep, or could I get away with running the vaccuum over it? The dog gets most of the food scraps, but b/c of said dog & two cats, we do have some hair.

You want to get any loose junk off the floor. The vaccum would be fine. I love mine for my crappy lineoleum. My friend uses it on her wood floors and it works well.

i have tile in my whole house and hardwood in my living room. i HATE it and feel it was a huge waist of money. i works ok on my hardwood, but does not work well on my tile at all! maybe its me, it could be user air but i would not spend the money on it again!

I'm trying to decide on one as well. I can't decide which model or if loading it up would be too annoying.

So, if my first floor is say, approx 750-800 sq ft, how many times do you think I'd have to refill it?

Also, does the carpet attachment work to freshen things up? Does it take long to dry?

Love our Shark ... I will usually refill for each room but our rooms are all really large (for instance our family room is 18 by 23.)

I do need to sweep or vacuum first, but I like mine. We have tile and I like it for quick mopping. (OK, as opposed to "not nearly often enough" mopping. )

You guys are doing a good job of convincing me. Our BJ's had one, but I'm not sure what model it was. I'm going to have to go back & check it out. I think I would probably mop every week if I had one as opposed to like once a month or "catastrophic happening" mopping! Plus, we're putting in wood laminate upstairs and I think it's better to steam that than mop it.

Any leads on a coupon? The commercial said there was a coupon online, but I can't seem to locate it...

i have the pocket mop and its great for surfaces that are smooth, but if you have grout at all it will be completely ineffective for that.
so i would say, for hardwood or linoleum it is AWESOME, tile, not so much. but i am crazy about how my tile in my kitchen looks, i have to break out the grout brush every time i mop. so, maybe its just my own problem.
