Post MC & Pre O - Pain in Ovary - Cyst? Should I be concerned??

Hi!

I had a D&C 11 days ago for a missed misscariage at 12.5 weeks (baby measured 10ish weeks). Everything went as well as can be expected considering, minimal bleeding afterwards and no cramping. A few days ago, I start spotting. Yesterday I noticed the flow was more light-medium, today it is light again. I have no cramps BUT I have had a very sharp stabbing pain in my ovary. It's what I would have when I ovulate, but instead of lasting like 3 seconds, it's been like that for 1-2 days.

I'm not fevered and I don't feel bad, AND I still getting faint BFPs so I don't think it's ovulation but what do I know.

Anyone been through this? I'm not seeing my Ob again until the first week of March but I don't think it's urgent at this point. I just made the mistake of googling "pain in ovary" and now I'm concerned I have something really bad. I have had 2 kids previously with no issues, but I did have a cyst with one of them spotted during an early US that resolved on its own.

Are cysts common after MC? It doesn't feel like uterine cramping to me, but again I'm no doctor.

thanks for your input, I'm a little freaked out after googling the stupid interwebz....

I don't really know the answer to your question, but after my last miscarriage which happened naturally at home, I had pain in my left ovary from where I ovulated. Ovulation from that ovary was verified by ultrasound after I had the miscarriage.

Anyway, when I was miscarrying I was really afraid it might be ectopic. It was a dull pain. It would come and go. So I know some pain can be normal, though I have no idea why I had the pain. There was no cyst. The pain didn't really go away until my next period.

Ever since my m/c (almost 18 months ago!) I have cramps on and off through out my entire cycle. Sometimes it feels like constant O pain and sometime it just feels like pre-AF cramps. I would try not too worry about it too much.

Thanks so much for your replies! I'm still bleeding (argh) but I hope it resolves whenever AF decides to show up. I read on the stupid internet about cysts and PCOS and Endo and I got kind of freaked out. I hope it goes away soon.

I mc'd in Dec and after my first pp O I started having very intense pain in my right ovary. I'm pretty sure it's a cyst that appears to be on it's way down now, my pain has lessened and actually hasn't happened in about a week. Most cysts just resolve naturally in a few months, try not to worry.
