Skin irritation on face

9.5mo DS has had some patchy redness on one of his [facial] cheeks off and on for a few weeks. My original guess is it's when he slobbers in bed then lays down on the wet sheet. He also burrows his nose in his bed some, so the tip of his nose is dry and red at times. Has this happened to your LO? Coconut oil seems to help. He had a similar larger patch on his lower back, like where the top of his cloth diaper rests, and on his hips some where the cloth diaper is. I've done some better rinsing on his dipes lately so his skin in the diaper area is better.

Also, separately, he has had a red dry mark above his lip for a few weeks now. It started out small, light in the middle and red around it. Thought it might scab, but it didn't and is faded some days and dry and flaky other days, and larger in area. It doesn't appear to bother him at all and I can look at it and feel it and he doesn't care. Our ND saw it in it's early stage and I think I'll take a pic and email her about how it is now.

Any ideas? I first thought it was a cold sore of some sort. I dunno!

My 9 mo old DS had a similar, red bumpy rash when he had a really bad cold. I think that his mucus might have been acidic, regardless it cleared up when his cold did. Has your baby been trying any new acidic foods?
