what is a good umbrella stroller with a recline?

I'm looking for one for my average sized 9 month old DS. I would love one that I can keep in my car for quick trips to the store or walks away from home. For health reasons, I can't use a sling .

I saw a Maclaren Triumph today that seemed really nice. Any opinions?

I have a Maclaren Sport something or other, and I love it; I actually started using it when DS was 2 months old (he has pretty good head control for that age) It opens and collapses easily, and is really easy to manuever. the handles are a good height for me; who is 4 foot 11 and DH who is 6 foot 6 (not easy to find, that!).

It has a good 5 point harness too, if that is something you are looking for.

another maclaren vote here...love my quest when we need to use it. and can't get over how much of a beatin' it takes while still being nice & lightweight.

Weren't they recalled?

If you're looking for cheap, what about the basic $20 stroller at TRU? It reclines.

LOVE my maclaren triumph! I wish I had bought one originally and not bothered with all the other strollers. We still use it and it has held up very well plus its sooooo lightweight and easily can get it opened and closed with one foot which trust me is a huge plus when Im trying to get someone in it

The 20 dollar stroller is good for baby dolls, that is about it. They are just not sturdy, tiny wheels, I can see if you are only using it in a mall then maybe it would be ok, but for doing really anything else, they would be a huge PIA.

Another vote for Maclaren. The recall was an added piece of fabric that you put over the section that snaps down or open. If a child's finger is in there when closing or opening then it causes injury, which is really more common sense then anything IMO.

We love our Triumph.

To the PP, yes, they were recalled. The issue is that fingers could get pinched if they were inside the hinge as the parent folded up the stroller. I don't know if there were any injury cases or if it is just precautionary. In any case, the 'fix' is little bits of fabric to velcro around the hinges.

FWIW, I've been folding up my Triumph for almost four years now and not once has a child's fingers been anywhere near close enough to the stroller to be injured.
