RRL tea quantity question

I did RRL tea with my last pregnancy, and agonized over a detailed schedule of how much and when. This time, with two other busy kids, I am not so keen on measuring in detail my exact quantity and being perfect about it. I am 26 weeks now. For the last week I just use my loose leaf preggo combo of RRL, alfalfa, oat straw and nettles, use about 32 oz of water and probably a cup or so of tea mix, let it brew over night, dilute to a pitcher full in the morning, then sip all day and usually finish it by bedtime. It there huge benefit to stair stepping up the amount, or if I just keep on keeping this amount until baby comes (maybe upping the strength just a bit at the end, will I still get all of the benefits?

It is easy this time, as water just does not sound goo, but the tea does. So I drink a lot. It doesn't cause any cntrx for me, nor did it last pregnancy.

THanks!

My midwife rec. 1 8 oz. cup per day per trimester. so, 3rd trimester would be 3 cups a day, or about 24 oz. of tea, undiluted. So, sounds to me like you're at the high end, but I'm not sure it's one of those things to worry about. Sounds like a great tea! and how excellent that it helps you get all your water in a day.

Thanks moonglowmama! I guess the other variable is how strong the tea is. Do you know what the "appropriate" amount of tea to water is when brewing?

i used 3/4 cup of loose tea to one gal of water. i used cheesecloth and make a tea bag ten pured 4 cups boiling water over it. then added the hottest water from the tap till full. then i let sit on the counter overnight. in the morning i would squeeze the bag out into the tea. then i would let it chill in the fridge for an hour before drinking it. i drank 3 to 4 large glasses a day during the 3rd tri. i craved it. it did not cause me to have more BH. but my labor was super cool and quick.

i think the gal lasted me 2 days.

I'm not sure. The woman at my herb shop said do about 1 TBSP of each herb per cup. Sometimes I do a little more or less.

eta: it probably varies with how long it brews too. Gosh, there are so many variables. Do you have an herbalist you could ask or your midwife? Now I really want to hear others' opinions.
