Ive been TTC #3 for 5 months now and am using accupunture, herbs from the accupunturist (if thats a word) and started on maca yesterday. DH will start on wednesday when he gets back form his trip. I actually dont mind the taste of maca, and shake it up with milo which is malty anyway.
FX this is our cycle!!!
welcome!

I am full of energy....so weird. Anyone else feel like they get so much done? I just can't sit still. Maybe I need to cut back on my morning coffee.

I can't help but think about having a november baby....ugh, I haven't even ovulated yet this month....argh

How are you ladies doing this week? I'm still plugging away, waiting to O, and waiting and waiting.... It's crummy and rainy here today and we're hanging inside. Hope everyone is doing well.

Just jumping in to encourage you all....I started taking maca in September, trying to get my body to ovulate and regulate my cycles, and I got my first BFP that cycle and I'm due in July!!!
For some maca works, others it doesn't, but I sure hope it works for you all!

So I am at the end of my first tww with maca and I have to say, my pms seems much better than usual. My boobs are still sore but other than that I would hardly know AF is coming.

I think I'll up my dose from 1000 to 1500 mg/day next cycle and see how that goes!

I spent most of last night reading through all the past TTC with Maca threads--so happy to see there is still a current one going!

I just took my first dose of maca yesterday. I picked up some tablets at the natural foods store to take until I decide what to order in a larger quantity. I'm starting with 1000mg a day until I run out of tablets, at which point I plan to increase to 2000 mg a day.

We are ttc #2. My son is 14 months and still nursing, and I have yet to see my first PPAF. I'm hoping the maca helps me start to ovulate again--I actually had a positive OPK last week, but my temps never rose, so I don't think I actually ovulated.

Good luck to all, and congrats to those who already have a BFP

Hi! I just took my first Maca capsule. I have an almost 20-month-old DD who still nurses a lot, and while I have had a few postpartum cycles, things have ground to a halt and I am on CD100. I'm hoping maca (in addition to the B6/B complex I am taking) will help move things along.

My capsules are 525 mg each. I think I am going to start with one capsule a day for a few days, and then go up to two. Will it be better to try to go higher than that, or should 1050 mg/day be enough? I'm very nervous about taking this for some reason.

Zwitterion - I just jumped right in at 1500mg and had NO PROBLEMs tolerating them.

Hi! I just ordered maca powder online. I can't wait for it to arrive! Meanwhile, I'll keep following this thread to see if any of you girls get BFP!

Do you want me to keep track of the BFPs and people's progress (like the ONE thread, etc) in the first post? I can start a new one every month. I don't mind...
It'll be fun to see all the maca BFPs.

Hi,
I started taking maca this cycle also. I've been taking 2000 mg a day for 18 days now. I like it!! Increased energy, increased sex drive, and my o date moved from cd 17-18 to cd 15. Now, hopefully it can increase my lp by a couple of days (or, more preferably, 8 1/2 months!) I'm glad to see others are taking it also. It will be interesting to see what the stats turn out to be.
I'm 42, nursing my 14 month old, and have been ttc for 8 months. Good luck to all of us!

I'll do something for march then, since it's in 2 days.
AFM, FF says I ovulated on CD 18 which is earlier than I've ovulated since nursing with AF....I'm interested in seeing how the rest of this cycle pans out, and can't help but wonder if the maca is helping me.

Gals, I have eaten the Maca powder with a spoon. Yes, the taste is quite strong. I mixed it in some vegetable soup. That completely disguised the taste.

I have already bought 1 lb of powder. Let's hope I don't need all of it (or do you keep on taking it through the pregnancy?)

I am happy to report that AF arrived today with zero cramps! This is highly unusual for me, so I am attributing it to the maca. I also ovulated about 2-3 days earlier than usual and my LP increased from 12 days to 14 days. This was my first cycle using maca and I have to say, I am very pleased!

That's exciting! I'm at 6 dpo, and two nights ago, my DD began a nursing/teething frenzy, so I'm hoping that the maca can hold things together for me. My last lp was 9 days, so I'm definitely hoping for a couple more (or even 8 1/2 months worth!) My temps have held steady throughout, and they are normally pretty rocky in the 2ww, so I'm looking at that as a positive sign!
Good luck with your next cycle! I hope it all comes together for you.
