I brought a stretch jersey maternity dress. It was super soft and totally moldable to body size. I loved it because 1) I didn't have to deal with pulling stuff up my legs, 2) no pressure on the tummy and 3) it was a wrap front so easy nursing.

The stretch jersey also helped to deal with the big changes in boob size once my milk came in. No tight areas were nice.

It's also 'nicer' than a nightgown to wear home. I mean, I didn't want to look 'odd' or 'invalid' on the way home from the hospital. Just a regular dressed mom with her cute little newbie!
