Spark people - Page 2

What are sparkpoints???

I just don't understand what Spark Points do for you? Is it just an extra motivator to log in?
I am down today! Losing a small amount of weight takes a long time.

Yeah, I think they're just motivational points. I don't pay attention to them, really, but it is nice seeing all the inspirational people on there and getting to see what they eat/how they exercise.

Rosemary- It's hard. I'm feeling down after taking a look in the mirror yesterday, too. I can't wait for spring so I can get out and exercise more. That always gets my mood up-biking, jogging, roller blading. Just getting out there. Is there anything you can do today to motivated you? A new exercise, maybe?

I just joined Sparkpeople also. I am not trying to get too serious just yet, but need to clean up some of the bad habits I got into pregnant, like desert after every meal. It rec. 1300-1700 cal day, but I switched it to 1800-2200. I delivered in Jan and had some complications so I can't really exercise just yet, but I figured this was a good place to start...

Hi rsummer! Your plan sounds good. On spark, I eat toward the low end on days that I don't get in any fitness. It works! Let us know your progress.

It helps me. I hate having to write down things I eat sometimes (like today, what a day) but there it is and I think about it next time.

You know what sabotaged me today? Alcohol. We went to friends' for dinner and I had 2 drinks and was like "why not another helping? why not another cookie?" grrrrr....

I have a question.

How do I enter something like an Express Fit class? It is basically where you go from a cardio machine to a weight machine, cardio/weight/cardio/weight for about 25 minutes and then do 5 minutes or so of abs at the end. Would I have to enter the time on each machine individually?

I just put in circuit training for things like that. You can do each individually...but I'm lazy.

I wish it had categories for more things, like capoiera, 30ds, other exercise videos, sex, etc.

Hey, MoonWillow! I just finally wandered back here and found your post...so here is the link.

I'm reading a little a day, and have joined, but am not doing well with entering my exercise, 'cause like others it doesn't have in the list what I do, which is the 30 day Shred and power yoga...

Thanks for the tip to put in circut work.

You can always input your own exercises. I actually log breastfeeding as a cardio activity for 15 minutes and 200 calories. It's not an exact science, but it keeps the thought there.

I used to use spark religiously. I tried to start up again last week, but failed. I know when I'm truely ready and able to start eating healthy again that I'll have the same awesome results I did before (lost 70+ lbs from May '08 to May '09 when I got pregnant)

A heart rate monitor is a great, reliable way to understand how much your exercise is burning. I love mine. unfortunately i can't find it.

Just started sparking again this week. I'm already feeling lighter even if the scale doesn't say so yet. I love spark because for someone like me that already eats healthy its really hard to lose weight because theres not a lot to cut out of your diet. But portion size restriction works for me. So I'm weighing and measuring and logging my food and so excited to stick with it!!

I lost about 10 pounds using spark 2 years ago. Then I got pregnant again and now I have the same 10 lbs to drop again. my user name is mamalatte. I updated my weight tracker but I still have the same pictures from 2 years ago up. So I basicly look like the before shot again. hehe.
