Before I got my Vitamix I used a regular blender for green smoothiesabout 2 yrs.** You just need to blend your greens w the liquid first to really get the greens blended well.* Then add your other ingredients.* My smoothies turned out really good even without the vitamix.

Oh! Thank you! This is so good to know. We've just lifted the cold frame that our greens have been under all winter and they are ready for consumption! I can't wait to try and do a green smoothie.

I use a cheap black and decker food processer to make ours. I think it blends the greens just fine

Usually, I do baby spinach, kale or swiss chard. Then I add a banana and some combo of fresh and frozen fruit- pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, peaches. I love adding a ripe pear or mango. For the past few days I've been adding a few tablespoons of hemp seed and the vitamix makes it taste so creamy-its awesome. I've also been using half water and half coconut water as my liquid. In the past I've added the raw cacao, maca and some E3 live to up the nutrients.

Same here. I have a magic bullet and dbf has a black and decker? Both do an excellent job. I mix the greens and milk first, then add the other stuff which is usually frozen (berries and bananas).

I've just been doing spinach, frozen bananas and berries, and almond milk. I'm a little scared to branch out.

I tried a smoothie the other day with romaine lettuce, Fuji apples, dates, and cinnamon. I was surprised by how good it tasted!

I do wish I had a VitaMix or Blendtec. I have a standard blender, and it makes pretty good smoothies if I have enough liquid, but every once in awhile I find myself having to chew my smoothie a little, and it had a tough time pureeing the dates.
