I'm hoping to hear from some been-there, done-that mamas on this one.
My son is almost 10 months old, and will be 11 months 1 week when I return to work. I have found a wonderful daycare for him, and there will be a nice, quiet, warm place for him to take his afternoon nap.
My problem is...right now, I nurse him down for every nap. He's very busy and "alert" and the nursing really calms him down. He'll be wriggling and flailing his arms and his eyes are wide, and then he starts to nurse and you can just see all the busy-ness leave his body. it's also one of the only times he's focused enough to nurse thoroughly...if I nurse him right when he wakes up, he's just rearing to go and will only drink for a couple minutes before he's off and running.
I'm worried that when he starts daycare, he'll have a terrible time going down for his nap, since I'm not there to nurse him.
Will the daycare provider just do her own routine, and he'll recognize that? Should I start weaning him off the nap nursing session to prime him for daycare?
I plan to send breastmilk in a sippy cup for daycare (he doesn't take the bottle), and hopefully the dp will give it to him as part of the nap routine, but I think it's more about the breastfeeding connection than anything.
Am I setting him up for a terrible transition? Or should I just have confidence that he'll learn to recognize that when he's at the daycare, he gets ready for a nap differently? Any advice?

Try not to worry, although I know thats hard.
I'm sure he'll adjust, and if he doesn't, I'll deal with it then! Good to know that others have been in the same boat and it all worked out fine.
