I'm wondering if my ds needs just one nap a day and am interested to hear when other babies switched....?

I replied 10 months. This is when dd1 dropped it. Actually she would have kept the morning nap, but it was getting too hard to the the afternoon one, so I made her drop it.

DD2 is 8.5 months and we're already in the transition period where she seems to be dropping it all by herself.

My cousin's 12 months old is dropping it, although her sister kept it until 16 months.

DD is 20 mo. and she just switched from two naps to one. I really didn't even figure it out for myself. Without the suggestions of MDC mamas I think we would still be trying to put her down for two naps. But it as made all the difference moving to one nap. We were never big on a rigid schedule in our family but the one nap a day really makes things flow in a routine like way that is better for all of us.

We started experimenting at 12 months and one month later have fully transitioned. I sometimes worry he's too tired in the day but mostly it's ok and he seems to be sleeping better at night.

she started around 11 or 12 months to switch to one nap, and now, at 14.5 months, she's consistently taking only one a day.

Right around a year for both DD1 and DS.

It was 13 or 14 months for both DD's. We still had a quiet lie down/nurse/mum reads her book for about an hour at the usual time for the morning nap. I think I needed it more then they did .
Cheers

10 months for DS, and then the one nap would last for 2-3 hours. He still takes an hour and a half to two hour nap most days though he has periods where he won't nap at all. DD seems to be transitioning to doing the same thing. Some days she'll only take one nap, other days she'll take two. She's 9 months.

I said 12 months but it was right around on year. Honestly could not say if it was 11, 12 or 13 months.

My LO just turned 8 months old last week, but I am considering trying to get her down to one long nap. She takes her first nap pretty consistently at 2-3 hours after waking, but her second nap is often so late in the day (by the time she actually falls asleep anywhere from 5-7pm) that her bedtime is often 10-11 pm, which doesn't work so well for all of us.
