when/what to feed baby 1st foods

This is not my first baby, but it's my first NT baby. At what age did you all start feeding your LO's solids? My baby is 7 mo old and is EBF. He's not really showing any interest in eating, but his appetite for milk seems to have increased. Sometimes he seems a little fussy as he lingers at the end of a feeding, as though there's not any more milk and he's not satisfied. I'm not in any rush to start him on solids, but I'm thinking about mashing up a banana or avacado with a bit of my milk and letting him have a bit once or twice a day. I also thought about soft coconut oil or butter off a spoon. Is it too early for soft egg yolks? What have you all done? TIA!

My son is almost 7 months old and I just let him taste whatever I am eating. I don't usually mash things up for him. Like sweet potato is his favorite. He gnawed on my steamed swiss chard last night. I am not going with the whole recommended WAPF egg yolk and liver thing. We have had too many allergies from that with feeding those to my first child. Now she has leaky gut.

Even with bananas, I just let him chew on a piece when I am eating one. He will spit it out if it is too big.

i'd suggest this book-http http://www.amazon.com/Real-Food-Moth...2658796&sr=1-1
it's excellent! specific foods- i would personally not intro veggies or fruits too much, they are harder to digest then animal foods in my experience, basically even now at 15 months old, most veg comes out the other side for my daughter exactly as it went in! egg yolk is ok for most people, humans have been eating eggs for milenia. mashed meat and bone broth/stock is great for babies.

My baby is 8 months; I just give him bits of whatever we're eating, if he's interested. If it's meat I pre-chew it for him (I just do it just because it makes sense, but it turns out that that's actually a traditional practice, and supposedly helps their dental health!) He likes fermented cod liver oil, oddly enough. I give him a spoonful and he leans in for more!! Glad it floats his boat.

My baby LOVES medium-rare grassfed steak. He just sucks all the juices out of a piece, then looks at me for more.

The basic idea is to focus on good fats and proteins. My babe also seems to like bananas and sweet potatoes.

my daughter loves sucking on a huge chunck of med-rare steak too! once they get teeth you of course have to make sure they dont bite off chokeable bits.
