how much would 1yo eat when sick?

so my son has been sick (cold + ear infection) for about a week now. he is still running temperature, stuffy nose, cough...
he's been eating pretty well up until today despite his illness, but today he doesnt really want to eat or drink much.
i am just wondering, how much do they eat when they are sick? i know when im sick i dont really feel like eating at all, but for me there is no issue of dehydrating as fast as a 1yo would.
we keep offering him water/tea/bmilk, but he only takes little sips and doesnt want more, he didnt really eat any solids either.
thanks

Awww, poor little guy! If he doesn't want to eat, I would offer, but be okay w/ refusal. For drinks, if he really only wants a few sips, I would buy Pedialyte to put my mind at ease. They also make Pedialyte popsicles which may feel nice for him. If he is taking bm, that is great! As long as he is having good pee diapers, he is getting enough. I would probably call the Dr again tomorrow if he is still not drinking much.

My DS wasn't eating much at all around 1 year period. I wouldn't worry about it. I would however, make sure he is staying hydrated. Maybe try making some "popsicles" out of juice/milk/etc and let him eat them? Anything to keep some liquid in him.

Are you nursing still? When DS doesn't feel well he nurses a TON.

Poor baby, he must really be sick. Have you tried saline spray to clear his nostrils? The only time DS was sick and didn't want to nurse it was because he just couldn't breathe. A saline rinse helped that though.

we do use saline and i have some homeopathic baby nose drops that seem to help a little... he did nursed pretty well later today around 5 (yay) and then before going to bed a little more. still refused any solids. what strange is that he seems to be doing much better - his fever has gone down almost completely, he is almost as happy as he usually is (slightly sickness-related fussy), but eats less than when he was really sick.
im confused, but i guess we'll just have to ride it out...
