Why does she fall asleep so fast for DH?

When I put DD to bed it takes her 10-130 minutes to fall asleep and there's usually 5 minutes of crying in there. When DH does bedtime she's out in under 5. He doesn't even do anything! They just lay down and she falls asleep. If I try that she's climbing on me, talking, playing. etc. I have to rub her back, tell her to put her head down and hold her close until she falls asleep. Why is she so much better for him? Is this some weird daddy thing?

Yep . My dh has always had the same luck with our twins. Tonight it took me 45 minutes of lying with them while they crawled all over me. Last night I lay ds on dh's chest, put dd beside him, left the room and they were asleep 5 minutes later without moving.

We've recently found the same thing here. I used to always nurse ds to sleep but it was taking longer & longer. Now, I nurse downstairs & then dh takes ds up & he's usually asleep within 10 minutes.

I LOVE it!!!

I hated that......not really I was jealous of my dh ability to put the girls to sleep that quick. They loved their daddy and to snuggle with them. I can't complain I love being in his arms also.

or

he is just more boring. LOL TEASING!

it's like that in our house, too. dd seems to only fall asleep nursing with me. i can spend over an hour trying to wear her down in a carrier or just rocking her and it never works. but dp can just pick her up and take two steps and she's conked out. it's ridiculous..... he's like a walking sedative.

it's so nice when i need a break

I have had this experience at times too. I think they have a harder time disengaging from mama--just don't want the day to end and can't settle, perhaps because of a more intense bond? Whereas with daddy it is easier for them to let go.

Glad to know this isn't just in our house!
