Need advice with regards to dropping 2 feedings

My ds is almost 5months old. He has been EBF but has been allowed to play with food for the past couple of weeks after his 2 lower teeth came in. As of next week i need to drop 2 feedings during the day and am hoping to be feed with formula. We've been trying to feed him a bottle but he won't take it and now wails if the nipple goes into his mouth. Grandma and 2 aunts have also tried too when i haven't been around. We did not prepared for me to go back to work so soon so i didn't pump up a storage of milk. Also, i will not likely be able to build up a stash before then or be able to maintain pumping the day before.

Any ideas on how i can get ds to drink formula once or twice a day?

You might experiment with a sippy cup at that age. I have had success with the Born Free sippy cup, as it has a flexible spout. My LO just chews on nipples.

I would suggest trying different bottles too - my babies have always been really particular about nipples. AND, does your munckin sleep a long time at a time when you can pump? My little girl always takes a long sleep between 7/8pm and midnight - without fail, so I could pump a couple hours after she went to bed. Some people like to create that mock feeding and keep it for the purpose of a milk stash....just a thought.

^I thought about that but i'm away when he has his major naps. The only time i'd be able to pump is a little unreliable which is why i don't want to torture the poor thing by flip flopping those feeding with BM vs formula.

I bought new nipples and different sippy cups. Good luck to grandma today.
