Made my first diaper today!

Heya Mamas, I just made my first diaper today! sooooo much fun. I was wondering what fabrics to use though? I've looked online but the materials that would normally be used are kinda pricey ie. $12/ Yard for cotton velour etc... I saw a nice velour at Joann's today but its polyester. would that work? I so far just bought some flannel and terry for the inner.

What do you want the fabric to do? The poly panne velour at Joann's would be a pretty great wicking inner, but it wouldn't really absorb any liquid.

Congrats on your first diaper. For inners, you can buy the crushed panne velour or suedecloth at Joanns--both are poly wicking inners. As for other fabrics, if you are making fitteds, you can use flannel for the outers, or for a longer fit, use knits. For covers/aio's/ai2's, you can use pul, which is usually found via different coops online. A cheap source of covers would be to use wool sweaters, felt them if needed and sew into soakers/longies/shorties.
