More Laundry Questions

I have just recently moved to a hot and dry climate in a foreign country (non-western). I am wanting to use vinegar as a fabric softener, but I was wondering what you guys thought.

I'm probably going to get a duel-basin washer, where you run water from your kitchen sink into the wash basin, then drain that and fill again for a rinse. You can then save the water from the rinse cycle to use for the next wash cycle. The second basin is for the spin. You transfer the clothes from one basin to the other. My question is: will having the vinegar in the wash water (from the previous rinse cycle) mess with the wash cycle? The washing power and such? Or will it not matter?

Please help. I'd really like to work on making my towels less crunchy. Here, they dry in 20 minutes. Also, should I dry them at night for slower drying?

I doubt you'll mess up the second wash load. I recently saw a home made laundry detergent recipe that used vinegar in the soap.

As for the crunchy towels and the fast drying time...that is part of your problem. I don't know why, but the faster something dries the crunchier it is.
I asume that you are line drying. Pin 2 towels up together to slow the drying time. And snap/shake the towels before and hanging up. It will help alot.
