Are there any GOOD veggie burgers out there?

I've tried a few brands of veggie burgers but they were all nasty tasting.

Does anyone know of a brand that is yummy?

I've never had a good commercial veggie burger, sorry. Either they're too grainy and starchy, or they just plain taste bad, or both!

Fortunately, really delicious veggie burgers and bean patties of all kinds are very easy to make at home, and usually freeze well. My favorite is from Vegetarian Planet, Falafel Burgers -- they have chickpeas, grated carrot, cumin, lemon juice, garlic, and some other stuff, the texture is excellent, and they are DELICIOUS!

I guess it depends on what taste your after. I don't like the ones that are meant to taste meaty

Two brands I like are

Amy's California burgers
and
Presidents choice Portabello/swiss(canadian brand) I dont really eat these anymore since I dont do dairy often but they are amazing. They seem to be the go to veggie burgers in our extended family too

I really like the 'vegan grillers' they sell at Trader Joe's . . . can't remember the brand though. They're the best I've ever had. =)

I haven't had a lot that i like. My favorite by FAR is just to grill a portobella mushroom with balsamic vinegar. MMMM....on a whole wheat bun with lots of veggies...

Second, though, would be a blackbean burger patty made at home...they work best on a griddle or pan as they fall apart easily, lol.

But commercial? Nah. I can live without them.

I'll have to see about finding a good recipe.

I absolutely love morning star farms "grillers". Even the kids like them, which is saying a lot since I have the picky-est 17 y.o. ever known to man!

Hmm, I can't remember if I tried Morning Star. Will pick them up today if I can find them. Thanks!

I love the garden burger brand portabella burgers. my husband loves trader joes masala veggie burgers (and hes not a vegetarian!)

i think the key for me to get a good tasting burger is to microwave for a minute then two turns in the toaster. or if using a stovetop, i microwave for a minute (or thaw on counter for an hour) then brush with butter or olive oil and then saute for a few minutes on either side.

I wasn't a big fan of Amy's but i did like the morningstar grillers. I also like the sunshine brand but its a bit more expensive and harder to find here.

Didn't go to the store today. Will have to look tomorrow.

I like the Morningstar Farms "Garden Veggie" veggie burgers. When you get a veggie patty at Subway, I believe they use the same brand as well.

what are you looking for in a veggie burger? i love sunshine burgers, they are pricey but are dairy, soy, egg, and gluten free. plus they are made with real whole food ingredients so they're worth it, IMO. but they are not fake "hamburgers" they are veggie patties... so if that's not what you're looking for, you may not like them.

A couple years ago I got some veggie burgers at Costco that were made with veggies, looked like veggies, and tasted like veggies. I don't know if they still sell them. I didn't buy them again because they come in such a big pack, but they were good.

I'm just looking for something that has a good taste and texture.

My son HATES when I make something from scratch. (he's in feeding therapy). I've tried over and over to make my own versions of things he likes but he just hates it (I think it's yummy.)

Right now, I'm trying to get ds to try and (like) new foods.

I am an omni (only a few times per week though) and I LOVE sunshine burgers. I love that they aren't processed and are soy free. I like the barbeque ones.
