I had an ultrasound today, and the baby has defects that make it "not
compatible with life." The baby's heart and liver are growing outside its
body, and there is no skull closing over the brain. Apparently, this is a
fluke caused by a thin membrane that attaches itself to the baby for no
reason and doesn't allow the placenta to close all the way, which causes
all kinds of strange development (including no traceable spinal cord, also
the case with our baby). We are terminating tomorrow.

This was our last shot. Thank you for being here.
