We use a 5 gallon step can with a pillow case as a liner. Once a week or so, I take out the plastic liner in the garbage can, fill it with hot soapy water in the tub and let it sit until DD needs her bum changed, then a bit of vinegar and baking soda, swish it around, dump and put it back. Yeah, the pail smells when I open it, but I don't expect it NOT to, KWIM?, it DOES have poopy diapers in it, LOL.
