Baby!!!
J/K Our baby girl, Cora Lynn was born at home (in the hallway of all places) Jan.26 at 4:12am. she weighed in at 9 even and 21inches long.
she has been a delight, a good nurser and a good sleeper.
As far as the birth goes it was great!
Our midwife was fantastic, just very present and not too hands-on. I ended up with about 10 hours, about 2.5 in transition- which I thought was never going to end (typical right?). Our 3.5yo DS slept through almost the entire noisy ordeal and then woke up about 1hour before the birth super excited and full of questions- what are those tools for? What does that do? When is the baby coming? So we called a dear friend and he came at 3:30am to pick up our son and get him settled elsewhere. I ended up birthing Cora in the hall between the bathroom and bedroom cause darn it I just couldn't get from the toilet and back to the bed! I had a contraction in the hall then collapsed to all fours and my mw said "she's gonna crawl!" I took one forward crawl and then pushed Cora into my DH's hands in the smallest part of our entire house! It was wonderful! About 10min later the MW's assistants showed and helped clean up and take vitals then they all left and my hubby and I slept a little and enjoyed a quiet morning while our DS went to school. Friends brought the proud big brother home and we've been cruising along happily ever since!
