Is this normal? She's 5.5 weeks. Can an efb baby get constipated? She has fussed and seems to be grunting like she usually cues before a big poo, but nothing comes, just a few farts! Weird, right?

Both my kids started pooping less around 6 weeks and then after about 8 weeks they both only went once a week. There's a wide range of normal.. 7 times a day or once every seven days. I doubt she's constipated, but you won't know until she poops. If it's little hard pellets then she was constipated, if it's soft, then she's just going less often.

All of my children have done this. My baby quit pooping with every meal around 7 weeks and now poops every several days. The nurses say it's possible to go up to 10 days without a poop in a breastfed baby. This baby has gone as long as 9 days between poops. I don't complain.
He often has gas and it can get smelly especially if I have eaten peppers or broccoli!

Bella's gone from about a million times a day to 1-3 times a day. Today for example, we had two poos: one in a diaper - nice big one, that one - which I changed. Then, after our bath, I popped her on a towel and...bingo! Another fair sized one on the towel!
Funny thing was, that the same way as a diaper, she then fussed for the towel to be "changed!"

ive always noticed this at about six weeks or so too.. just about at that here ourselves.
its apparently due to the slow decrease/ to eventual transition to complete milk at this time. there is still a small quantity of colostrom up until this point that is slowly reducing, and colostrom has laxative properties. as their body adjusts it may take a month or two of spread out BM's then they resume a more recognizable pattern.
