Core strenghtening?

Everyone talks about strengthening the core for a nice midsection. What are some examples of exercises that are considered core strengthening? thanks

navasana or boat pose in yoga is a great core strengthener. Just google boat pose to learn the pose. Easy to do anywhere, anytime too!!!

Pull ups and chin ups are great for working arms, abs and back. Definitely core strengthening.

Here's another easy one, sit on a chair and stick your legs straight out in front of you. Slowly SLOWLY slowly lower them straight down. Do 3 reps of 10. For variation, stick your legs straight out and to the side, and lower. Then do the other side.

plank, side dips, 1 legged exercises on a bosu(or anything that's unstable like a trampoline), spin class, walking backwards(especially the lower abs)
